Love Local

Community Outreach and Missions

Local Church uses its resources and equips people to help others start and grow their faith in Jesus and meet needs in Jesus’ name. We do this locally, in the United States, and around the world in three unique ways:

1. Planting and supporting local churches.

2. Supporting organizations who meet needs and/or make disciples in their local community.

3. Leading people to live out their faith in Jesus in their local community.

We partner with like-minded churches, missionaries, ministries, and organizations to do this effectively. Every summer we select who we will partner with during the upcoming school year.

At the local level, we have aligned our church with the following ministries:

The Place of Dawson County – Serving the people of Dawson County by providing various services, including emergency financial assistance, food assistance, counseling, workforce development, job training, and much more. Volunteers can serve in various ways at the thrift store, such as administrative tasks.

Meals by Grace – Once a month, volunteers pack food boxes for a specific family in the county and deliver the food. The families in need are identified from the school system, and Meals by Grace volunteers meet a real need for the children and their families.

FCA (Fellowship of Christian Athletes) – FCA uses sports to introduce students to Jesus. Volunteers can serve in various ways, from being character coaches for a specific sports team to providing meals for meetings.

Good Shepherd Clinic – Good Shepherd provides healthcare for adults who do not have health insurance. Doctors and nurses volunteer their time and expertise to serve others. Other volunteers serve in other administrative roles.

Sleep In Heavenly Peace – “No kid sleeps on the floor in our town.” That’s the mission of Sleep In Heavenly Peace. This national organization has a local chapter in Dawsonville. Volunteers can participate in building beds and even delivering beds to kids who need beds.

Samaritan’s Purse Disaster Relief – Living out Jesus’ story of the Good Samaritan, this organization goes into communities that have been devastated and bring physical and spiritual relief.
