Worship is our response to who God is and what He has done. Throughout the Christmas story, we see people respond to God in different but meaningful ways. Zechariah worshiped with words and songs of praise. Joseph worshiped through trust and obedience. And the wise men worship Jesus with joy, humility, and generosity.
As you study Matthew 2:1–12, look closely at the worship of the wise men and what their example teaches us about authentic worship today. They were filled with joy by being in the presence of Jesus. Their humility was expressed as they bowed low before Him as King. Their generosity was expressed through offering their most valuable gifts.
Behold : Joseph (Part 2)
In the story of Joseph, we see worship expressed not through words or songs, but through immediate obedience. Joseph worshiped God by doing what God said, even when it was costly, confusing, and inconvenient. His obedience showed his trust, love, and desire to follow God fully. Obedience is an expression of worship because it shows that our hearts are aligned with God’s will.
Behold Him : Zechariah (Part 1)
“Behold!” It’s a word woven all throughout the Christmas story. Behold is a call to look, to pay attention, to open our eyes. But it’s more than simply noticing. Behold invites us to be captivated, to fix our gaze on Jesus in a way that moves our hearts to respond. In Luke 1:57–75, through the story of Zechariah and Elizabeth, we see a beautiful picture of that response: worship. Their story reminds us that worship begins with recognizing who God is and what He has done.
Living our Faith: A study in James : James 5:13-20
In James 5:13-20, we see that prayer isn’t just about asking God for what we want but about aligning our hearts and lives with Jesus. We are reminded that we all wander at times, but through confession, community, and persistent prayer, we can experience the freedom, healing, and restoration that comes from walking in step with God’s will.
